Hazel Newlevant

Hazel Newlevant is an experienced editor and cartoonist with a diverse background in the graphic novel and comic book industry. Currently serving as an Editor at Street Noise Books since December 2021, Hazel focuses on proofreading and providing editorial feedback on graphic novels, including the fact-checking of nonfiction works. As a Cartoonist for Little, Brown and Company, Hazel is working on the forthcoming nonfiction graphic novel QUEER & HOW WE GOT HERE. With extensive editorial roles at companies like First Second and Lion Forge Comics, including editing Eisner-award-winning projects, Hazel has a proven track record of managing multiple ongoing series and successfully promoting Kickstarter campaigns. Hazel's educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Cartooning from the School of Visual Arts and an Associate of Science from Portland Community College.
