Derek Jones

Derek Jones is an experienced hospitality professional with a career spanning over two decades. Currently serving as the General Manager at Holiday Inn Express Thunder Bay since April 2014, Derek oversees one of the newest hotels in the area, which features 88 rooms and a variety of amenities. Prior to this role, Derek co-owned Little Caesars Pizza and held managerial positions at TownePlace Suites by Marriott Thunder Bay and Holiday Inn Express North Bay, where Derek enhanced guest experiences and operational efficiency. Derek's extensive background includes significant roles at Clarion Resort Pinewood Park and Holiday Inn Barrie, along with an instructional position at Canadore College, where curriculum development and training were key responsibilities. Holding a degree in Hotel, Resort and Restaurant Administration from Canadore College, Derek brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the hospitality industry.
