Maggie VanZalen currently serves as the Development & Communications Manager at Little Lights Urban Ministries, a position held since August 2023. Prior to this role, Maggie worked as the Director of Administration at Transformation Ministries from January 2021 to August 2023, and as Campus Staff for RUF (Reformed University Fellowship) from June 2017 to June 2020. Earlier experience includes an internship as an Executive Assistant at International Justice Mission from June 2016 to May 2017. Maggie graduated from Saint Mary's College in 2016 with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government.

Little Lights is a non-profit Christian urban ministry organization dedicated to showing the love of Jesus Christ to the inner city community of Southeast Washington, DC, particularly the children.
