After completing their undergraduate studies in 2000, they went on to attend UMass Chan Medical School, where they earned their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in 2005.

Dr. Hirsch proceeded to specialize in Emergency Medicine, completing their residency at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine from 2005 to 2008. During their residency, they served as a Chief Resident, demonstrating their leadership skills and dedication to their field.

Desiring to further their knowledge and impact in the field of public health, Dr. Hirsch pursued a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Health Policy and Management from the Boston University School of Public Health. David J. successfully completed this program in 2010.

Additionally, in 2008, Dr. Hirsch dedicated time to immerse himself in the Emergency Medical Services field as an EMS Fellow at Boston Emergency Medical Services - Boston Medical Center. This experience would have provided him with specialized training and practical exposure to emergency medical services.
