Teresa Burden's work experience includes being the Principal of Mark Twain Elementary at Littleton Public Schools starting in June 2017. Prior to that, they served as an Assistant Principal at Wildcat Mountain Elementary in the Douglas County School District from September 2014 to June 2017. Teresa also worked as a Response to Intervention Specialist at the same school from June 2013 to September 2014, and as a Grade 4 Teacher from July 2005 to June 2013.
Teresa Burden earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Colorado State University from 1985 to 1989. Teresa later pursued a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix, completing it from 2006 to 2007. Additionally, they obtained a Principal Certification from Lamar University, although the month and year of acquisition are unspecified.

LPS is ranked top 20 in the nation in K–12 education for safety and security. The security industry’s leading trade publication, Security Magazine, has named LPS among the Top 500 security operations around the world.
