Matt Shaw

Matt Shaw is the current Finance Manager at Live & Breathe. Prior to this, they were Financial & Treasury Accountant at the University of Leeds from September 2018 to August 2020. There, they were responsible for cash flow production for the Universities Board of Directors, balance sheet reconciliation production/review for the University, and automating/improving current processes leading to significant cost savings. Matt was also a key member in production of Financial Accounts.

Before their time at the University of Leeds, Matt Shaw was an accountant at Rural Insurance from March 2016 to September 2018. There, their responsibilities included monthly balance sheet/P+L production, and commentary on relevant variances; premium and claims insurer bordereaux production and submissions; ad hoc project work - including movement of banks & transition to new corporate processing system; consolidation of various subsidiaries to create a group SOPL & SOFP; and extremely proficient use of excel - including macros, advanced lookups & document linking.

Matt Shaw's career began as an assistant accountant at OneFamily from July 2011 to March 2016. Matt then completed a first team internship at Watford Football Club from September 2010 to June 2011.

Matt Shaw's educational career includes a certification from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) in accounting and finance, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in 2.1 Hons from the University of Hertfordshire. Matt also attended high school at Boston Spa School, where they studied biology, maths, psychology and sport studies.
