James Hughes

James Hughes is a seasoned financial professional with extensive experience in small business banking and investment advisory lending. Currently serving as Managing Director at Live Oak Bank since October 2014, James oversees Investment Advisory Lending and manages various lending sectors, including Insurance, Accounting & Tax, and Law Practice. Previous roles at Live Oak Bank include SVP and VP of Investment Advisory Lending, as well as positions in loan origination and credit underwriting. James has also contributed to the Financial Planning Association (FPA) of the Triangle as a Board Member and Strategic Partner Director. Prior to these roles, experience includes trading government-guaranteed assets at Government Loan Solutions and serving in various managerial and analytical capacities at Morgan Stanley. James holds a BA in Economics from Bucknell University, obtained in 2006.
