Karen A. Gans

Karen A. Gans is a Professional Education Specialist at LiveOnNY, where since September 2006, engaging education and training for over 1,000 medical staff, stakeholders, and community leaders has been delivered to enhance awareness of organ donation processes across New York City hospital systems and transplant centers. Previously, Karen held the position of Senior Transplant Coordinator, managing a complex 24-hour on-call role and overseeing the evaluation and management of potential organ and tissue donors. Additional experience includes serving as a Transplant Coordinator at Dedicated Donor Call, Inc., and as Director at Vista Medical Center, focusing on ICU and emergency services in a surgical facility. Karen holds a Master of Education in Training and Performance Improvement from Capella University (expected December 2024), a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from The University of Texas at Arlington (2017-2020), and an Associate's Degree in Nursing from Humber College (1993-1996).
