Zac Zavos began their career in 2003 as a Senior Business Analyst (Contract) at the University of New South Wales. Zac then moved to Fidelity Investments in 2004 as a Senior Business Analyst / Project Manager (Contract). In 2005, Zac worked as a Senior Digital Analyst (Contract) at BSkyB. In 2006, they joined ThoughtWorks as a Snr Consultant / Marketing Manager. In 2007, Zac founded Conversant Media and became its Chief Executive Officer following the acquisition by APN News & Media. In 2016, Zac led the seed investment by the three Shearwater partners in Playground XYZ and was a Director of the company until it was acquired by GumGum Inc. in December 2021. In 2018, Zac co-founded Shearwater Capital, a venture fund that invests in passionate founders and great companies. In 2019, they became an Investor & Director at LivePreso (formerly SalesPreso) and an Investor at Sitemate Technologies. Finally, in 2021, Zac became an Investor at Fuel50.
Zac Zavos completed a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology & Sociology from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in 1996. Zac then returned to UNSW to complete a Master of Commerce in Information Systems & Management in 2000. In 2018, Zac attended the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business to complete the Venture Capital Executive Program. Zac is currently enrolled in the Graduate, Company Directors Course at the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
