Alan J Richards is a seasoned researcher in Popular Music Studies at Liverpool Hope University since September 2012, where a biography of Australian record producer David Mackay is currently being composed, alongside efforts to promote Mackay's new album 'Double Take' featuring renowned artists. Prior to this role, Richards served as a songwriter and producer at Stag Music/Records from May 1972 to June 1978, collaborating with notable figures such as Tom O'Connor and The Jacksons. Earlier experience includes songwriting and recording at Valley Music Publishers and ATV Music Publishers from August 1970 to May 1975, working with artists like Ronnie Scott and Bob Newby. Richards holds a Master of Arts degree in Beatles, Popular Music and Society from Liverpool Hope University, attained between 2011 and 2013.
