Gabriela Varela

Gabriela Varela has a diverse work experience in the field of HR. Gabriela most recently worked as a People & Culture Manager at livingHR, Inc. starting in 2022. Prior to this, they held a role as an HR Business Partner at yumeda from 2020 to 2023. In this position, they built the entire HR department and processes from scratch, providing advisory support to management and focusing on remote culture and employee lifecycle. Gabriela also worked as an HR Consultant for various companies from 2020 to 2022.

Earlier in their career, Gabriela worked at HealthPartners as a Recruiter from 2018 to 2019. Gabriela was responsible for full-cycle recruitment, employee referral program, background check analysis, and coordination of outplacement services. Gabriela was promoted from the Recruitment Coordinator role within the first year.

Before joining HealthPartners, Gabriela was a Talent Acquisition Specialist at Ultimate Staffing from 2016 to 2018. Overall, Gabriela has shown their expertise in HR, specializing in various HR functions such as recruitment, HR consulting, and building HR departments from scratch.

Gabriela Varela completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University, graduating in 2016. During their time as an undergraduate, they also participated in a study abroad program in London, England through the Foundation for International Education in 2014.

After their undergraduate studies, Gabriela pursued further education and earned a Master's degree in Human Resources Management from EAE Business School, which they completed in 2021. Prior to this, they obtained a High School Diploma from Hong Kong International School in 2012.

In terms of professional certifications, Gabriela received an Employer Branding Certificate from EADA Business School in April 2021. Gabriela then obtained a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace certification from the University of South Florida Muma College of Business in June 2023.
