Russell Smith

Russ Smith has lived in southwest Montana for 27 years where he raises his two teenage sons with his wife of 22 years. Since moving to Montana, Russ has worked in water resource management having performed work in surface water restoration and reclamation, wastewater treatment and stormwater management. His passion for clean water has led him to become versed in wetland ecology, soil conservation, water treatment methodologies, and has worked extensively on the reclamation of landscapes impacted by agricultural and industrialization, as well as from the effects of urbanization. In his evenings, Russ is active in youth baseball and is also a recording artist and performing musician. He is grateful for having diverse interests and a love of the northern Rocky Mountain landscape; it allows him to spend time helping with local non-profits and the community that they serve.
