Susana Wheeler is a Digital Engagement Officer at Lloyd's Register Foundation since July 2022, where responsibilities include enhancing the digital estate, optimizing online content, and driving audience engagement through innovative technology and platforms. Prior experience includes a Digital Engagement Intern role at the same foundation, focusing on improving accessibility to maritime resources, and a Researcher and Scriptwriter Intern position at Black Cultural Archives, contributing to educational videos and workshops on Black History. Additionally, Susana held a Museum Research and Education Intern position at Royal Holloway, University of London, producing digital projects that presented local histories creatively. Susana holds a Postgraduate Degree in Public History and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Royal Holloway, alongside A-Levels in Classical Civilisation, History, and Sociology from Island Innovation Sixth Form.

Lloyd's Register Foundation is a charity with a mission to protect life and property and to advance transport and engineering education and research. We became fully operational in 2013 but we draw on a long and distinguished history dating back to 1760 through our trading arm, Lloyd’s Register Group Limited (LR), with its tradition of public benefit. Our vision is to be known worldwide as a leading supporter of engineering-related research, training and education, that makes a real difference in improving the safety of the critical infrastructure on which modern society relies. In support of this, we promote scientific excellence and act as a catalyst working with others to achieve maximum impact. Our strategic themes are concerned with supporting excellent scientific research, promoting engineering-related education, encouraging public communication around risk, and facilitating the uptake and application of technology for the wider benefit of society.
