Sasank Vemulapati's work experience begins in 2013 when they worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, focusing on combustion research. From 2014 to 2015, they worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in the Department of Mechanical Science and Engineering, specifically on nanoscale material research. In 2015, they started their role as a Graduate Research Assistant at Cornell University, where they worked towards their PhD in Mechanical Engineering. Their research projects during this time focused on developing point-of-care medical diagnostics and techniques for resource-limited settings. In 2020, Sasank became the Chief Executive Officer at Lo Bio, a company that is revolutionizing blood testing. Sasank oversees both technical and business development and is the inventor of the underlying technology.
Sasank Vemulapati completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.), Magna Cum Laude, in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 2011 to 2015. Sasank then pursued further studies and earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University, where they studied from 2015 to 2019.
