Joe Grassi

Joseph Grassi serves as the Chief Risk Officer at loanDepot since September 2022. Previously, Grassi held positions as General Counsel and Chief Risk Officer at Celebrity Home Loans, LLC, and as Chief Risk Officer at Guaranteed Rate. Grassi's extensive legal experience includes serving as Principal Deputy General Counsel at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and CEO of Appia Advisors, LLC. From January 2015 to February 2017, Grassi was Executive Vice President and General Counsel for Prospect Mortgage, LLC, overseeing legal, compliance, and regulatory relations. Earlier in Grassi’s career, significant roles at Fannie Mae included Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel for Single Family, managing a team of legal professionals, and providing support across various multifamily lending activities. Grassi earned a Juris Doctor from Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Villanova University.
