Joel Bennett

Joel Bennett has extensive work experience in the field of software development and DevOps engineering. Joel is currently serving as a Principal DevOps Engineer at loanDepot, where their responsibilities include being a subject-matter expert in various technologies such as Azure, Kubernetes, GitOps, and continuous delivery. Joel also mentors developers and promotes tools and practices for improved delivery and reliability.

Prior to loanDepot, Joel held various roles at different companies, including being a Lead Software Developer at Open Source Projects since 1998. Joel also worked as a Senior DevOps Engineer at Questionmark, where they played a crucial role in migrating the company's SaaS product to Azure and ensuring compliance with security standards. Additionally, Joel worked as a Consultant - PowerShell Developer at BitTitan, a Consultant - Principal Software Engineer at Archive360, Inc, and a Solutions Architect at Splunk. Before that, they held positions as a Senior Software Engineer, Software Engineer, and Test Automation Engineer at Xerox Corporation. Throughout their career, Joel has demonstrated proficiency in various programming languages and technologies, including PowerShell, Python, C#, and Django.

Joel Bennett completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Youth Ministry & Cross-Cultural Studies from Alliance University from 1992 to 1996. Joel then pursued a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Rochester Institute of Technology from 2001 to 2008.
