Huong Nguyen

Huong Nguyen's work experience starts with their current role as a Software Engineer at LoanStreet Inc. since January 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Software Engineering Applications in 2021, where they held various roles such as Full Stack Developer, UI/UX Lead, Back End Developer, and Front End Developer. In their role as a Back End Developer, they redesigned the backend of an e-commerce web application and optimized query time. Huong also utilized Docker to deploy on AWS and implemented caching and load balancing techniques to increase throughput.

Before joining Software Engineering Applications, Huong worked as a Senior Analyst Specialist in Business Finance at Lam Research from April 2020 to July 2021. Huong also has experience in finance roles at Abbott, where they worked from 2016 to 2020. Their roles at Abbott included Finance Supervisor, Senior Financial Analyst, Financial Analyst, and Contract & Pricing Analyst. In these roles, they led financial forecasting and consolidation processes, managed financial deliverables, and collaborated with data analytics teams.

Huong's earlier work experience includes an internship as a Financial Analyst at Cisco in 2015 and a Financial Planning and Analysis internship at Matson, Inc. in 2014. Additionally, they worked as an Accounting and Economics Tutor at DVC Business Administration Department from 2012 to 2013.

Huong Nguyen's education history begins with their high school education at Le Hong Phong High School, where they obtained a high school diploma in 2010. Following that, they attended Green River College from 2010 to 2011 and earned a high school diploma as well as an associate's degree in Business Administration.

In 2011, Huong enrolled at Diablo Valley College and completed their Associate's Degree in Business Administration, which took them until 2013. In the same year, they transferred to the University of California, Berkeley. At UC Berkeley, Huong pursued a double major in Economics and Statistics and obtained their Bachelor's Degree in 2015.

Moving forward to 2021, Huong attended Hack Reactor for a Software Engineering Immersive program, further augmenting their technical skills.

Additionally, Huong has attained two additional certifications throughout their education. In December 2012, they received the President's Award from DVC Phi Beta Lambda. Shortly after, in February 2012, Huong obtained the VITA/TCE Basic and Intermediate Certification from the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistant (VITA).
