Jim Derrickson has a solid work experience spanning over several decades. Jim began their career at Bank of America in 1982, where they were able to revitalize the bank's presence in the lending market. After this successful stint, they moved on to BB&T in 2002, where they oversaw residential construction and development lending in the Raleigh area. Jim joined Centex Homes in 2005, where they played a pivotal role in land acquisition and was a part of the management team responsible for running the profitable Raleigh division. In 2008, they joined Southern Community Bank and Trust as the Triangle Market Executive, overseeing commercial, residential construction, and retail banking operations. Jim then worked at NewBridge Bank from 2012 to 2014 as a Senior Vice President for Builder Finance. Following this, they held the position of Senior Vice President for Commercial Real Estate at CommunityOne Bank from 2014 to 2016. Currently, they hold the role of Senior Vice President of Builder Finance at First Bank.
Jim Derrickson received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Richmond in 1980. Additionally, they have completed a program at the North Carolina Broker school, but no specific start or end year was provided for this education.
