Before coming to LGFCU, Avent was employed by State Employees’ Credit Union as Vice President/Assistant Comptroller. Avent joined LGFCU in 2006 as Vice President, Finance. He was promoted to Chief Financial Officer in 2008.
As CFO of LGFCU, Avent is responsible for oversight of the Finance, Accounting and Lending departments. He also develops LGFCU’s annual financial plan, formulates new policies and makes decisions within existing policies.
Avent has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from North Carolina Central University, is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Financial Planner and holds several insurance licenses.
Avent currently resides in Wake Forest with his wife and three children.
