Outside of their professional career, Sarah contributed their skills and passion to various organizations. Sarah served as the Campaign Spokesperson for the Canadian Society of Intestinal Research and the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America and Canada from September 2006 to February 2008. Additionally, they were a Short Track National Team Member for US Speedskating from January 1995 to April 2007.

Sarah Lang obtained a Bachelor's degree with honors in Economics from the University of Calgary, where they studied from an unspecified start year until 2005. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in Economics specifically focusing on Game Theory at the University of Calgary from 2005 to 2007.
