Ivan Luevanos-Elms

Ivan Luevanos-Elms serves as the Executive Director at Local Progress and Local Progress Impact Lab since January 2018. Prior to this role, Luevanos-Elms held various positions, including Organizing Director at the New York City Council from March 2014 to January 2018, and Director of the Community Engagement Division at the Office of Council Member Carlos Menchaca for a brief period in early 2014. Luevanos-Elms also worked as Chief of Staff for Carlos Menchaca's City Council campaign and served as Campaign Manager for the same candidate. Additional experience includes working as an LGBTQ Justice Organizer at Make the Road NY and as an Organizer for the Working Families Party. Luevanos-Elms holds a Master of Arts in Politics from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Spanish from Loyola Marymount University.
