Senior Interaction Designer at Local Projects

Magdalena Kovarik has a diverse work experience in the fields of interaction design, research, teaching, and exhibition design. Magdalena has held roles at Local Projects as a Senior Interaction Designer, where they currently work. Prior to that, they worked at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam as an Artistic Researcher, focusing on postdigital art practices in cultural education. Magdalena was responsible for research, interactive and experience design, and curriculum development. Additionally, they worked at Google as a Newslab Fellow, at Y Artist Residency as an Artist in Residence, and at NYU Stern School of Business as a Research Scholar and Digital Prototyping supervisor. Magdalena also worked as a Freelance Designer at Fraunhofer Institute and held design workshops for adolescents with difficult backgrounds. Magdalena Kovarik has experience in exhibition design and has interned at Loudordesign Studio and Unfold Design Studio.

Magdalena Kovarik's education history includes multiple degrees and studies in design and technology. From 2006 to 2012, they attended Universität der Künste Berlin, where they obtained a diploma degree equivalent to a master's in Industrial and Product Design. In 2009 and 2010, they also studied at ENSCI - Les Ateliers, focusing on Industrial and Product Design. Later, in 2011 and 2012, they attended Shenkar - Engineering. Design. Art. for studies in Industrial Design and Visual Communication. Finally, from 2014 to 2016, they studied at New York University's Interactive Telecommunications Program, earning a master's in Animation, Interactive Technology, Video Graphics, and Special Effects.
