Dr. Markus Beck

Dr. Markus Beck has over 16 years of work experience in various data-related roles. Dr. Markus is currently the Head of Data & Insights at localsearch (Swisscom Directories AG) since December 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Head of Big Data Analytics & Reporting at the same company from October 2021 to December 2022.

Before joining localsearch, Dr. Beck worked at UBS as a Release Train Lead - Big Data and Advanced Analytics from 2019 to October 2021. Dr. Markus also held the position of Sr. Manager Big Data & Advanced Analytics at Accenture DACH from 2017 to 2019 and worked as a Senior Data Mining Consultant at Aduno Gruppe from 2013 to 2017.

Earlier in their career, Dr. Beck served as a Data Mining Consultant at Viseca Card Services SA from 2009 to 2013. Additionally, they held the role of President of Executive Board and Head of Staff at Telejob.ch from 2005 to 2008 and worked as an Assistant/PhD Student at ETH Zürich from 2005 to 2008.

Dr. Markus Beck completed their education at three different institutions. Dr. Markus obtained a Diploma in Physics from the University of Tübingen in 2005. Dr. Markus then pursued a degree in Nanotechnology, earning a Dr. sc. ETH Zürich from ETH Zürich in 2008. Prior to these degrees, Dr. Beck had a background in Physics from Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1.
