Janica Cheney

Janica Cheney is the Director of the Propulsion and Energetics Talent Center at Lockheed Martin, where they currently lead efforts in engineering and technology. Previously, Janica held roles at Orbital ATK as Director of Safety and Mission Assurance and Director of Test and Research Operations, contributing to significant safety and operational advancements in missile and propulsion systems. Their earlier experience includes serving as a Senior Manager at ATK Launch Systems, overseeing critical safety and risk management programs. Janica began their academic career with a PhD in Physics from the University of Utah, followed by a postdoctoral position at the Naval Research Laboratory, where they investigated the properties of semiconductors. They are also pursuing a BS in Physics and Mathematics at Weber State University.
