Jonathan O'Connor has extensive experience in the field of animation. Jonathan began their career in 1999 as an Animator/Artist at Rare Ltd, where they animated NPC/enemy characters for Perfect Dark and also worked as a background artist on Starfox Adventures. Jonathan then moved on to Silicon Dreams Studios Ltd in 2000, where they managed and scheduled the animation team, created in-game animations and cutscenes, and collaborated with engineers to develop in-house tools.
In 2003, Jonathan took a break in their work experience to become a stay-at-home dad for their young daughter. Jonathan resumed their career in 2010, joining Full Fat Productions as an Animator. During their time there, they contributed to the development of animations for various projects.
In 2013, Jonathan worked as a Freelance Character Animator at SEGA Europe Limited, specifically with Hardlight. In this role, they were responsible for all in-game animations and cutscenes, creating and modifying behaviors in mecanim. Jonathan also collaborated closely with design and engineering teams to ensure efficient processes.
Following their freelance work, Jonathan joined TwoNerds Ltd in 2018 as an Animator, where they continued to contribute to various animation projects. Jonathan then moved to Lockwood Publishing Ltd in 2020, taking on the role of Animator.
