Lead Structural Engineer at Locweld - Transmission structures

Shad Syed, P.Eng, M.Eng, is an accomplished structural engineer with extensive experience in lattice steel tower design, steel foundation design, and finite element analysis. Currently serving as the Lead Structural Engineer at LOCWELD since February 2014, Shad has contributed to significant projects such as the Duke Energy 500kV tower family design and testing of 500kV towers in Seville, Spain. Prior experience includes roles at SNC-Lavalin, where involvement in the design of 315kV HVac and 350kV HVdc lines for the Lower Churchill EPCM project was notable, and CIMA+, focusing on lattice steel tower projects. Early career experience includes civil design and construction management at Videotron, where structural drawings of steel towers were revised. Shad holds a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering from Concordia University, along with a D.E.C in Civil Engineering Technology from Dawson College.
