Tara Thompson

Tara Thompson currently serves as a Senior Staff Attorney at the Exoneration Project since June 2023, having extensive experience in civil rights litigation, including police misconduct and wrongful convictions, as a Partner at Loevy & Loevy Attorneys At Law since November 2007. Previously, Tara held the position of Senior Staff Attorney at the Innocence Project from March 2021 to May 2023 and worked as a Staff Attorney at the Exoneration Project from January 2008 to March 2021, where supervision of legal representation for the wrongfully convicted was a key responsibility. Additional experience includes serving as a Law Clerk for the Honorable Elaine E. Bucklo at the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and as an Associate at Mayer Brown, focusing on various legal matters. Tara holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Chicago Law School and a Bachelor's degree in History and Spanish from the University of Utah.
