Ahmed Hussein

Ahmed Hussein's work experience includes various roles in different companies. In 2009, they started as a Research Assistant at Nile University, where they focused on developing machine learning solutions for traffic monitoring and analysis projects. Ahmed then became a Junior Research Scientist, working on vehicle recognition and tracking in urban environments. From 2013 to 2014, Ahmed served as a Senior Research Scientist, leading a team in developing machine learning solutions for the TRAFFISENSE project.

In 2014, Ahmed joined Robert Gordon University as a PhD Student, conducting research on deep learning approaches for imitation learning. Ahmed also worked as a Teaching Assistant for an advanced data science course. Ahmed's responsibilities involved preparing and teaching labs focused on mining data from continuous data streams.

After completing their PhD, Ahmed joined Mapscape B.V. as a Computer Vision Engineer in 2018, where they contributed to computer vision projects. Ahmed then co-founded Logicluster in 2017, assuming the role of Chief Data Scientist and using their expertise to drive data science initiatives.

Most recently, Ahmed joined Shell in 2019 as the Computer Vision Theme Lead. In this role, they are responsible for leading the computer vision team in developing innovative solutions.

Ahmed Hussein pursued their education in a chronological manner, starting with their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science at Helwan University Cairo from 2004 to 2008. Following this, they obtained a Master of Science degree in Communication and Information Technology from Nile University - NU between 2009 and 2013. Continuing their academic journey, Ahmed completed a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Computer Science at Robert Gordon University from 2014 to 2018.

In addition to their formal education, Ahmed also acquired a certification in Certified SAFe 5 Product Owner/Product Manager from Scaled Agile, Inc. in May 2020.
