Alexander Gunkel has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Alexander began their career at IKON Office Solutions in 1999 as a Systems Support Engineer. In 2000, they joined Thetford Academy as a Systems Administrator. From 2001 to 2005, they worked at Jobe Concrete Products (now CEMEX) as a PC Support Technician, providing technical support and managing networks.

In 2005, Gunkel joined CEMEX as an IT Coordinator, where they led the post-merger integration efforts of Jobe Concrete Products. Alexander deployed and maintained networks across multiple regional locations and handled server administration and industry-specific applications.

From 2011 to 2015, Gunkel worked at Amazon Web Services, first as a Technical Support Engineer and later as an AWS Support Team Lead. Alexander provided technical support and led a team in resolving customer issues.

Gunkel joined Accenture in 2015 as an Associate Manager, leading the Cloud Operations team for a national wireless carrier's customer self-service account management portal. In this role, they managed infrastructure, supported production and development/test environments, and facilitated the switch to blue/green deployment methodology.

At Accenture, Gunkel also served as a Cloud Tools and Automation Engineering Manager from 2017 to 2019. Alexander led the Cloud Enterprise Enablement team, developing cloud automation tooling and deploying cloudformation for production and non-production environments.

Currently, Gunkel works at Logicworks since 2019. Alexander initially served as a Cloud Systems Engineer and was recently promoted to the position of Cloud Solutions Engineering Manager.

Alexander Gunkel attended Indiana Wesleyan University from 1997 to 1999. However, no degree or field of study was specified for this period. In addition to their formal education, Alexander obtained several certifications related to Amazon Web Services (AWS). In April 2019, they became an AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate. Three years later, in April 2022, they achieved the AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional certification. Furthermore, in February 2019, they obtained the AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional certification.
