Cooper Matheson has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Cooper started their career as a Head Chef at Ouzo Greek Taverna from 2006 to 2007. Later, they worked as a Constituency Assistant at the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, where they managed office operations and handled communications for the MLA. In 2012, they joined the Government of Alberta as a Policy Advisor to the Minister of Energy, focusing on communication strategy and organizing media events. Cooper also served as a Policy Advisor to the Minister of Municipal Affairs, where they led important projects and managed media relations. Cooper then joined the Jim Prentice Leadership Campaign, initially as a Policy Adviser and later as the Director of Outreach & Field Team in the Edmonton region. In these roles, they played a key role in team management and communications. Cooper also gained experience in government positions as the Chief of Staff to the Minister of Culture & Tourism and the Minister of Housing and Seniors. Cooper implemented various initiatives and strategies, organized media events, and collaborated with government partners. Most recently, they worked at DigSafe Alberta, a non-profit focused on environmental protection, as the Director of Communications, overseeing various communication activities. Currently, Cooper holds the position of Director of Customer Development & Channels at LoginRadius, where they work closely with the CEO and leadership team in managing sales and partnership operations. Their work primarily involves projects in emerging technologies related to identity, revenue generation, data security, and cost reduction.

Cooper Matheson completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Policy Studies and Public Relations at Mount Royal University. Cooper pursued this degree from 2008 to 2012.
