Jon Baba leads LMI’s defense market, where he is responsible for fostering customer and partner relationships, managing profit and loss, acquiring new business, and championing LMI’s strategic plan, vision, and goals. Jon and his team are highly vested in addressing defense customers’ greatest challenges, offering solutions at the pace of need, and minimizing time to value. Jon brings over 20 years of public-sector experience supporting the Department of Defense (DoD) and defense industry and has significant expertise in the development and strategy of technology solutions.
Prior to this role, Jon served as a strategy and analytics partner in the defense sector at Deloitte. His career with Deloitte began in 2004, where he launched the Navy and defense practice and supported customers in cyber, artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing, and industrial security. Jon’s account leadership roles include the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Navy, Army, and Air Force, and he has led work for the Joint Artificial Intelligence Center, the OSD Chief Management Officer, Navy and Marine Corps Comptrollers, and several DoD cyber organizations.
In addition to his expertise in growth strategy, opportunity identification and qualification, and new business capture, Jon has extensive experience innovating for defense mission and management priorities. Among his many accolades, Jon is proud of developing Deloitte’s federal practice’s crowdsourcing capabilities addressing human trafficking, global sustainability, addiction, self-harm, and early cancer detection challenges facing the nation.
Jon holds a bachelor’s in international relations, Chinese studies, from Syracuse University and a master’s in business administration from Averett University Graduate & Professional Studies. In addition to engaging and connecting across the industry as a graduate of the National Defense University, Jon bridges mentoring and apprenticeship gaps exacerbated by the COVID-19 period.
