Lok Capital
Vishal Mehta is the founder and partner of Lok Capital, a venture capital firm based in India. Prior to launching Lok Capital, they worked as a senior business analyst for Capital One from January 2002 to January 2004. Before that, they were marketing manager for Nokia Siemens Networks from June 1995 to July 1999.
Vishal Mehta graduated from the University of Michigan - Stephen M. Ross School of Business with a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering. Vishal then attended DCE for their schooling.

Lok Capital is one of the pioneering and leading "base of pyramid" focused impact investing venture capital funds in India. Founded in 2006 by Dr. Rajiv Lall (currently the Executive Chairman of IDFC) and Donald Peck (previously Head of South Asia for Actis), Lok Capital has a corpus of approximately USD 90 million across two funds. The Fund's investors are international development institutions, including CDC Group PLC (UK), IFC, KfW (Germany), FMO (Netherlands), Proparco (France) and ACCION Investments. The firm has so far invested in around 16 companies including Ujjivan Financial Services, Vistaar Financial Services, RuralShores, Drishti Eye Care, Everest Edusys and Hippocampus Learning Centres.
