Tom Friel

Tom Friel is a Partner and Co-Founder of Lometa Capital Partners. Prior to co-founding Lometa, Tom was Senior Analyst at Q Investments, a $1B family office based in Fort Worth, Texas. While at Q, Tom was a member of the Investment Committee and was the lead executive at Q China Towers, a portfolio of 100 cellular towers in China. Tom was responsible for Q’s credit and equity investments in the industrial and business services industries with a focus on software, manufacturing, education, natural resources, and government services. Tom is also on the Board of Texas Exchange Bank, a $1B bank owned by the Q family office.

Prior to joining Q, Tom spent three years at Insight Equity where he was a Senior Associate. Tom evaluated and consummated investments in a variety of industries including oilfield services, automotive, metals & mining, and heavy manufacturing.

Earlier in his career, Tom worked as an analyst in Macquarie’s Restructuring & Special Situations Group where he represented lenders on workouts in their sponsor-backed loan portfolios.

Tom graduated magna cum laude from The University of Notre Dame with a BBA in Finance.
