London Aviation Underwriters, Inc (LAU) was founded in 1980 by Michael E. Charlesworth to write aviation risks in the Pacific Northwest.  LAU now handles general aviation risks, airport premises liability and non-owned aircraft liability for individuals and companies throughout the United States. It began as a company inviting the challenges of writing risks in the often inhospitable climate of Alaska and still maintains that spirit as it has grown through the years.

The LAU office is located in Seattle where its employees can assist producers late into the day. It is an active supporter of aviation groups including the local Northwest Aviation Insurance Association and the international Aviation Insurance Association.
