Alex Bates is currently working as a Lead Service Designer at the London Borough of Hackney since September 2022. Prior to this role, Alex held various positions such as Service Design Lead and Design Lead at RNID from August 2021 to August 2022, User Experience Designer at Which? from April 2019 to December 2019, Senior User Experience Designer at the British Red Cross from March 2016 to March 2019, and User Experience Designer at the BBC from January 2015 to March 2016. Before that, Alex worked as a Web and Design Assistant at the Mental Health Foundation from October 2010 to February 2012.
Alex Bates obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Drawing and Painting from The University of Edinburgh, specifically from the Edinburgh College of Art, where they studied from 2001 to 2005. Following this, Alex pursued a Master's degree in Fine Art Media from UCL, more specifically at the Slade School of Fine Art, between the years 2006 and 2008.
