Maria Coombe

Maria Coombe has extensive experience in operational resilience and emergency planning, currently serving as the Operational Resilience Vetting Manager at the London Fire Brigade since 2012. Maria leads a high-performing team within the London Resilience Group, overseeing response capability development and managing the annual work programme under various regulations. Earlier roles included Resilience Officer, where responsibility encompassed major incidents planning, and Resilience Support Officer, focusing on capability support for emergency frameworks. Prior to this, Maria worked as an Emergency Planning Administration Officer and Local Authority Olympic Liaison Officer during the London 2012 Games. Additionally, Maria has a background in graphic design, having worked freelance and as a Senior Designer at Studio Parris Wakefield. Maria holds a Master’s degree in Risk, Crisis and Disaster Management from the University of Leicester and a BA (Hons) in Graphics from the University of Wales, Newport.
