Vanessa Airth

Vanessa Airth has a strong background in work-based learning, policy, and practice. Vanessa currently holds the position of Head of Work Based Learning, Policy and Practice at London Metropolitan University, a role they have held since August 2019. Prior to this, they served as the Head of Business Partnerships and Employment Outcomes for the School of Business & Law at the same university, starting in September 2016. Vanessa also has extensive experience as the Business Relations and Employability Manager, where they successfully built relationships with local SME employers and professional bodies to source work experience opportunities for accounting and business students. Additionally, they provided one-on-one support and guidance to students seeking work experience and delivered career management skills lectures across the undergraduate curriculum. Before joining London Metropolitan University, Vanessa served as an intern at Communique from 1994 to 1995.

Vanessa Airth obtained a Higher National Diploma in Consumer Studies from The University of Salford between 1994 and 1996. Vanessa later pursued a Master's degree in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education from London Metropolitan University, completing it between 2007 and 2010. Additionally, they earned a certification as a Senior Fellow from the Higher Education Academy at Advance HE in 2015.
