James Cummings has had a progressive career in roles focused on economic development and business growth. James started their career at West London Business as an Economic Development Executive from January 2006 to February 2008. James then moved on to work for the City of London as an Inward Investment Officer from January 2008 to August 2009. James then joined UK Trade & Investment, where they held the positions of Clean Tech Business Development in Los Angeles from November 2009 to December 2012, and later served as a Vice Consul and Trade & Investment Officer from December 2012 to July 2015. Currently, James is the Vice President of Business Development at London & Partners, where they have been since July 2015. In this role, they are responsible for promoting London as a leading world city and supporting the Mayor of London's priorities for economic growth.
James Cummings completed their education in a chronological order. James started their academic journey at UCL from 1999 to 2002, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in History and Anthropology. Following this, they pursued further studies at Birkbeck, University of London from 2003 to 2004, earning a Master of Arts degree in London Studies.
