Simon Callow

Simon Callow is an actor, author and director. He created the role of Mozart in Amadeus; his one-man shows include The Mystery of Charles Dickens, Being Shakespeare and A Christmas Carol.

Films include A Room with a View, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Shakespeare in Love and The Phantom of the Opera. He has directed in the West End and on Broadway, at the NT and the RSC.

He has written 17 books including biographies of Laughton, Wilde, Dickens, Wagner and Orson Welles. He has directed many operas and often worked with the LPO, as well as the London Mozart Players and the LSO.
