Lola Okunade has a diverse work experience within the medical field. Lola started their career at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1998 as a physician, a role they held until 2012. During this time, they also worked at the UIC Mile Square Health Center, where they served as the Associate Medical Director, Attending Physician, Quality Medical Director, and Interim Medical Director.
In 2012, Lola joined Lone Star Circle of Care as the Medical Director of the Family and Adult Service Line. Lola also briefly served as the Interim Medical Director of the same department. Later on, they took on the role of Medical Director of Vision Care.
Most recently, Lola has joined the Dell Medical School at the University of Texas at Austin as an Affiliate Faculty in Population Health.
Lola Okunade completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Chemistry at the University of Dayton from 1988 to 1992. Lola then pursued their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine, graduating in 1997. Following that, Lola undertook the Family Medicine Residency Program at the University of Illinois Chicago from 1997 to 2000.
In terms of additional certifications, Lola obtained a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from USF Corporate Training and Professional Education in May 2021. Lola also completed a Digital Transformation in Healthcare (Online) course through Emeritus in August 2022.
