M. Renee Valdez, MD, PhD, began their education at Rice University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biochemistry from 1990 to 1994. M. Renee then enrolled in the Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) at the UT Southwestern Medical Center, earning their combined MD, PhD degree from 1994 to 2003. Recently, in the year 2020, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Health Care Transformation at The University of Texas at Austin, completing it in 2021.
