Anthony Messina

President, Asia at Lone Star

Mr. Messina is the President responsible for directing origination activities in Asia and is a member of Lone Star’s Global Risk and Market Risk Committees.

Mr. Messina has more than 25 years of experience in the real estate industry. Prior to joining Lone Star in 2019, Mr. Messina was the Canadian President and Managing Director of Westmont Group Canada where he originated and led the execution of real estate transactions on behalf of Westmont, was head of their Canadian hotel operations (which included over 130 hotels), served as President and Chief Executive Officer of InnVest REIT (previously listed on the TSX) and was a member of the investment committee for Westmont USA Mezzanine Debt Fund. Prior to joining Westmont in 2009, Mr. Messina was with Cadim, a division of the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec where he was responsible for world-wide real estate acquisitions totaling over $4 billion in transactions. Of these investments, over $1 billion were sourced and executed in Asia, including China, India, and Japan. While at the Caisse, he was also responsible for asset management for a period of time. Prior to that, Mr. Messina held senior positions in real estate companies, including Aeroterm, Inc., and was also an auditor and real estate consultant at Deloitte LLP, Montreal. Mr. Messina holds a B.A. degree in Finance from Concordia University and a Graduate Degree in Public Accountancy from McGill University. He is also a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Public Accountants.
