Courtney Chavez, JD, serves as the Director of Advocacy and Government Relations at Lone Star Justice Alliance since February 2025. Prior roles include Senior Vice President of Equity & Community Partnership at Austin Transit Partnership, where strategies for community engagement in the Austin Light Rail project were developed, and Director of Equity and Inclusion at the Texas Department of Transportation, overseeing Civil Rights policies and launching initiatives for job opportunities for justice-involved youth. Additional experience encompasses leadership positions at The University of Texas at Austin focused on inclusion and equity, as well as legal roles at Andrade Gonzalez LLP, Scheper Kim & Harris LLP, and Jones Day, with a background in corporate criminal investigations and trial practice. Courtnee Chavez holds a BA in Public Policy Analysis from Pomona College and a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from The University of Texas School of Law.
