Amanda Chavez

Amanda Chavez is an accomplished music educator with extensive experience in instrumental music, currently serving as the Director of Instrumental Music at Long Beach Unified School District since July 2021. Previously, Amanda held the position of Instrumental Music Teacher at Nathaniel Narbonne High School from June 2008 to June 2019, where responsibilities included directing the Marching Band and overseeing various musical groups, alongside co-directing the program to achieve notable successes. Additional professional experience includes roles in account support at Intek America, Inc., contract procurement coordination at the CSUDH Multicultural Center, and data entry at Barry Avenue Plating Company. Amanda holds a Master of Arts in Music and Music Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a BA in Music Education from California State University Dominguez Hills.
