Erica Kelly

Erica Kelly is an experienced educator with a strong background in teaching science across various grade levels. Since returning to the Long Beach Unified School District in 2024, Erica has been an 8th grade science teacher at John Muir K-8 Academy. Previous roles include teaching 9th grade at Jordan High School and developing curriculum for 9th-12th grade students at Polytechnic High School. Erica also taught 7th grade science utilizing the Amplify Curriculum at Santa Maria Bonita School District. Other experience includes leading science camps at California State University, Long Beach, mentoring teaching assistants, and various educational roles in nature and marine biology settings. Erica holds a Master’s degree in Science Education and multiple teaching credentials from California State University, Long Beach, complemented by a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Ohio Wesleyan University.
