Lara Stone

Lara Stone is an experienced educator specializing in biological sciences and outdoor education. Currently serving as a Biological Science Teacher and Head Beach/Indoor Volleyball Coach at Long Beach Unified School District since August 2022, Lara previously worked as a Secondary Science Teacher at Green Dot Public Schools from December 2020 to November 2022. Lara has a strong background in outdoor education, having pioneered the Junior School Outdoor Education Science Program at Beaconhills College and served as an Outdoor Educator with The Outdoor Education Group. Additional experience includes roles as a Volleyball Coach with the United States Youth Volleyball League and various positions in environmental education, including Naturalist at East Bay Outdoor School and IB Outdoor Education Coordinator at the Center for Outdoor Education. Lara holds a Teaching Credential in Secondary Science from California State University-Dominguez Hills and a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Studies from the University of California, Berkeley.
