Mike Bonkalski

Mike Bonkalski is an experienced project manager currently working at Longenecker & Associates, Inc. since September 2021. Previously, Mike served as the ESH Director and Chief Safety Officer at Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory from May 2020 to August 2021 and held the position of Deputy Chief Safety Officer at Fermilab from November 1998 to April 2020. At Fermilab, Mike was instrumental in reorganizing the Environment, Safety, Health, and Quality (ESH&Q) Section, developing strategic plans, and overseeing critical safety programs. Mike has also worked as a Safety and Health Manager, Occupational Safety/Construction Safety Oversight Manager, and Industrial Hygienist at Fermilab. Prior to this, Mike was an Industrial Hygiene Technician at Argonne National Laboratory. Educational qualifications include a Master of Public Health with a focus on Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety from the University of Illinois Chicago and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health from Illinois State University.
