Caroline Alden has a diverse range of work experience, starting with their role as a Co-Founder at LongPath Technologies, Inc. since 2018. Prior to this, they worked as a Research Scientist II at the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences since 2017. Caroline has also been an Affiliate at NOAA/ESRL Carbon Cycle Group since 2009.
Caroline's previous experience includes being a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Stanford University from 2014 to 2015, where they investigated carbon-climate interactions in the Amazon Basin. Caroline also worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences from 2014 to 2014, focusing on developing an atmospheric CO2 inverse modeling framework and applying it to analyze the Amazon Basin's sources and sinks of CO2.
In addition, Caroline has experience as a Visiting Professor at Colorado College in 2013, teaching an intensive course on Introduction to Global Climate Change. Caroline was also involved in PhD work and Research Assistantship at INSTAAR - University of Colorado Boulder from 2007 to 2013, developing a gridscale Bayesian inversion model for biosphere-atmosphere fluxes of CO2.
Outside of academia, Caroline has worked as a free-lance blog writer for "The Burn Journal" in 2013 and as an Editor for Project Butterfly. Caroline also served as a Visiting Professor at Quest University Canada in 2012, developing and teaching a course on Earth's Climate and the Carbon Cycle.
Caroline Alden has a strong educational background in the field of geology. Caroline obtained their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Geology from Colorado College in 2007. Following this, they pursued further education and completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Geology, Carbon Cycle, and Climate at the University of Colorado Boulder, from 2007 to 2013. In 2014, they engaged in postdoctoral research at Stanford University as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow. In addition, Caroline Alden holds a Certificate in College Teaching from the University of Colorado Boulder, although the specific date of its attainment is not provided.
