Dr. Paul Bassan

Dr. Paul Bassan is a seasoned professional in the fields of data management and actuarial consulting, currently serving as the Head of Data Management at Longtail Re since September 2023. With extensive experience in various pertinent roles, Dr. Bassan has worked as an Actuarial Consultant at Ryewood Consulting since April 2020, and previously held leadership positions such as Actuarial Lead at Supercede, where innovative reinsurance technology solutions were developed, and Head of Insurance Analytics at Hokodo, focusing on automated underwriting for trade credit insurance. Dr. Bassan's expertise is further demonstrated through roles at Cytora, Aspen Insurance Group, and as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Manchester, where contributions included advancements in machine learning for cancer detection systems. Dr. Bassan holds a Ph.D. in Physics from The University of Manchester, complemented by an MSc in Physics and a BSc in Physics from the University of Warwick.
