Akash Nandi has a diverse work experience in various roles. Akash started their career as an Intern at Larsen & Toubro in 2013, where they conducted a study on the effects of harmonics due to industrial loads and performed simulations using Matlab and PSPICE. Akash continued their internship at the same company in 2014, focusing on the study of harmonics.
In 2015, Akash joined Honeywell as an Intern and later became a Software Engineer. Akash worked on systems engineering for Communication and Navigation systems, as well as prototype development for Ground proximity warning systems. During their time at Honeywell, they held multiple roles, starting as a Software Engineer 1 and progressing to Software Engineer 2 and 3.
In 2022, Akash joined Cruise as a Machine Learning Intern, where they contributed to improving Autonomous Vehicle behavior during Unprotected Left Turns and complex scenarios involving other agents. Akash developed a self-supervised loss function to enhance the model's output confidence scores.
In 2021, Akash also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Most recently, Akash joined Longtail Technologies in 2023 as a Software Developer.
Akash Nandi's education history begins in 2008 when they attended Bhartiya Bhavan in Kolkata for their high school education, focusing on Science. From 2011 to 2015, they attended Manipal Institute of Technology, where they earned a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
In 2018, Akash briefly attended IIIT Hyderabad to study Advanced AI and ML, although no degree was specified.
Moving forward, from 2016 to 2017, Akash obtained certifications in Six Sigma Green Belt and Aero Ground School from Honeywell Technology Solutions, Inc. Additionally, in September 2011, they completed the Level 1 ethical hacking workshop conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
Currently, Akash is pursuing a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology, which is expected to be completed in 2023.
